Previously Luton College of Higher Education, with roots dating back to Luton Modern School, founded in 1908, the University of Bedfordshire has been known by its current name since the University of Luton and De Montfort University’s Bedford campus merged in 2006. It is a modern university with a total of six campuses across the counties of Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, offering courses in creative arts, sport, science, social sciences, business, and a range of other subjects. We require HSC/ A-level with an IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each element. If you are applying for postgraduate, an IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each element is required. If you do not meet the academic English language requirements for your course, you may be eligible to enrol on a pre-sessional English programme. The length of the course will depend on your current level of English and the requirements for your degree programme.
Located in the town centre, the university’s Luton campus is home to seven departments, the students’ union and the Postgraduate and Continuing Professional Development Centre. Housing the Physical Education and Sports Science Centre and a number of lecture theatres and specialist labs, the Bedford campus is 20 minutes from Bedford town centre on foot. Situated just northeast of Luton, the Butterfield Park campus plays a key part in nursing and midwifery courses. A number of the University of Bedfordshire’s health courses take place at its Buckinghamshire campus in the town of Aylesbury.
